About Daryl Stinson M.D.

For over 25 years, Dr. Stinson has been a Family Physician in the Mission and McAllen Area. He grew up in Brownsville and at the age of 18 left to Monterrey to follow his own family doctor's footsteps, getting his prepa and medical at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. He then trained in McAllen from 1991 to 1994 at the McAllen UT Family Medicine residency program. In 1994 Dr. Stinson opened his Family Medicine and Obstetrics clinic in Mission. He later included industrial medicine to his clinic.

Dr. Stinson's career has been that of primary care, treating all ages from newborns through adults. He stresses improving health by improving lifestyle. He understands that the most common chronic health problems here in our community can be improved and treated just with lifestyle changes that are easy to follow. For 15 years, Dr. Stinson's patients have been reversing obesity and early stages of type II diabetes with his guidance.

Dr. Stinson has always looked at how to improve healthcare access to the working community. He understands that the old barriers to care are due to the rigid system of the healthcare industry. This is why Dr. Stinson's passion is to take healthcare to work. At PCW this is accomplished by:

  • Patients can access Dr. Stinson and other providers from home or work through our telemedicine program.

  • PCW has later office hours so patients can schedule appointments after work.

  • PCW works with small and large employers to have affordable packages for basic primary care needs if the employee of family are not covered with health insurance.

  • PCW has online access to the clinic for prescription refills, messages, test results and scheduling appointments.
